VR is helpful for medical treatment

34 individuals had elective hand surgery, and researchers at the Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston divided the patients into two equal groups. While undergoing surgery, one group received VR headgear and was provided access to a variety of soothing immersive applications; the other group did not. The VR group asked for far lower dosages of the tranquillizer propofol. Brenda Wiederhold, creator of the Virtual Reality Medical Center, asserts that VR may be useful both during and following medical treatments. Shortening hospital stays and reducing the chance of problems can both be achieved by reducing the quantity of anaesthesia a patient receives. Medical professionals would need to keep an eye on patients for cyber sickness, a type of motion sickness that some individuals get as a result of VR.
