Where the world of Metaverse becomes Real

Baidu, Chinese internet giant, creates Xiao C: a digital human

A virtual recreation of actual news presenters named Xiao C was created by Chinese internet giant Baidu Inc. She can replicate human facial emotions, movements, and body language to the point that she hardly stands out from a real person. According to industry analysts, digital humans are expected to become more prevalent in peoples’ daily lives. The market for virtual people in China is anticipated to grow to 270 billion yuan ($38.5 billion) by 2030. They provide personalised wake-up call services and may engage in discussions through SMS, audio messages, and emoticons. To introduce service-oriented digital people, Baidu collaborated with Shanghai Pudong Development Bank, China Everbright Bank, and China Unicom. Digital humans’ creation time will be cut from months to days, and their cost will be decreased by 10 to 100 times.
