In the near future, according to Apple CEO Tim Cook, augmented reality will overtake the metaverse as the most significant technical advancement. The CEO views augmented reality as a “deep technology” with significant potential. Apple has not yet made any statements on its plans for the metaverse. Cook is a fervent supporter of augmented reality, and according to Bloomberg, Apple is developing headgear that might be available in 2023. Additionally, Evan Spiegel, the CEO of Snap, has previously called the idea of a metaverse “ambiguous and speculative.” He also supported augmented reality (AR), which overlays computer-generated sensory input onto a user’s perception of the current world.
