Jonathan Koon has released a new collection named Mostly Heard Rarely Seen 8-Bit (MHRS 8-Bit) in partnership with Highstreet, a retail metaverse gaming platform. It is a spin-off of the MHRS main line that launched in 2015. The clothing items including hats, shirts and hoodies would have a QR code embedded in them that could yield NFTs on scanning. There would also be an eight-step guide on creating a presence on Highstreet. The coding and aesthetic are aimed at Web3 tech natives. Koon plans on expanding the 8-Bit brand with two annual collections and mini NFT phygital drops throughout the year. It is a first-of-its-kind project and the main retailers would include Saks Fifth Avenue, Neiman Marcus, Selfridges, Harvey Nichols, Beymen, Bloomingdale’s and Farfetch. Gucci and Gmoney also have tried to venture into this space after the NFT boom last year.
