Transforming math education with virtual reality: Prisms VR empowers students in 140 school districts

In the United States, many students struggle with mathematics, as evidenced by the low math scores of eighth graders on the National Assessment of Educational Progress. To address this issue, some educators are turning to virtual-reality (VR) technology as a teaching tool. Anarupa Ganguly, the founder of Prisms VR, developed a VR learning platform that offers math and science lessons in realistic digital environments. Through simulations and real-world problem-solving tasks, students can grasp difficult concepts more effectively. The platform has been successfully implemented in 140 school districts across 30 states. Research indicates that VR technology can accelerate learning and enhance students’ understanding of complex topics. Prisms VR is continuing to expand its offerings and improve STEM education in the United States through partnerships with organisations like WestEd and the Gates Foundation.
