Hospitals will soon provide services in the metaverse, and pharmacies will rapidly follow. CVS Pharmacy, the American drugstore behemoth, aspires to be the first pharmacy in the metaverse. A meta pharmacy’s purpose is to assist patients with monitoring their prescriptions, learning how to take the medication, receiving reminders, and tracking their medication.

CVS Pharmacy has filed a trademark application to provide services in the metaverse. Kronans Apotek, one of Sweden’s major drugstore chains, has begun testing in the metaverse. Telemedicine will be increased by VR; patients will get consultation in the form of an avatar; and medical procedures such as 3D surgery may be improved. Potential cybersecurity vulnerabilities, however, are one of the most significant concerns.
