The number of Bitcoin Ordinal inscriptions experienced a significant surge in July, reaching nearly 3.6 million for the month and pushing the total count close to 18 million. Following a relatively calm period in June, inscription volume has picked up once again, with notable spikes observed during the past two weekends. On July 8, daily inscriptions reached 350,524, rising to 385,920 on the following day. Although there was a slight drop to 385,604 on July 16, it still represents the third-highest point recorded. In total, July has seen 3,577,123 daily inscriptions so far, surpassing June’s count of 3,916,627. The Bitcoin Ordinal protocol, designed by Casey Rodarmor, has gained traction since its launch in 2022, with $55 million paid in ordinal fees to date.
